Mwenda and Kashiba are villages located in the Luapula Province of Zambia. Mwenda is in Chipili District on the Chipili-Kawambwa Road while Kashiba is in Mwense District on the Mansa-Mwense Road. A gravel road links the two villages.
The road between Mwenda and Kashiba has been in existence for many years. It has been used by transporters and the general public travelling from within the province and beyond to and from DR Congo who have been utilising the border crossing point at Kashiba.
Within the Province transporters operating between Mansa, the provincial capital, and Chipungu in the North of the province would choose a route from several different ones. One of these routes took the travellers through Chipili, Mwenda, Kashiba and Mwense.
