The city of Livingstone, located in the southern part of Zambia and in Southern Province, is the Tourist Capital of Zambia. Livingstone hosts the world famous Victoria falls, seen by the Scottish explorer and missionary Dr. David Livingstone in 1885. He named it Victoria Falls, after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. The falls lies on the Zambezi River, which forms an international boundary between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Livingstone, named after the explorer, offers a number of tourist attractions. Tourists, both local and foreign, can see the Victoria Falls, visit the Livingstone Museum, ride a Steam Powered Locomotive Train between Livingstone and Mulobezi, go bungy jumping at the Vitoria Falls Bridge, also between Zambia and Zimbabwe, as well as view wildlife in the Mosi oa Tunya National Park. There are other tourist activities not mentioned here that take place in or around the city.
